My paintings are influenced by my moods or the music that I'm listening to or the friend that loves me or the boy that I just kissed. Each painting tells a story - I don't always know what it is but somehow, the person who does always seems to find their way to it. My paintings are far from perfect - they carry the weight of a past with them. Some have razor blade scars, some have been damaged by sandpaper or turpentine spills, some carry old newspaper clippings with them. Just as scars and damage make humans real and beautiful, I believe the same applies to my paintings. I have never been a fan of "perfection" and I try to make my paintings as human as posssible by letting them show their scars.
