Statement: My art is abstract. My subject is nature. Vibrant colours in a painting inspired from a deep knowledge of the forms and colours of nature.
Biography: Painter, poet
Date of birth : 18.3.1954 in Merad, Algeria.
English literature studies at the University of Algiers, diploma in 1978. I live and work in Algiers, Algeria.
I started painting in my childhood. Group exhibitions in Algiers since 1983.
In 1983, my work became abstract. I use: oil, acrylics, mixed media and collages. Though abstract, my art tells about nature. In 1989 I started painting with a computer: my digital works are not fractals but actual abstract works realized with a computer.
I am also a journalist: I worked in the main Algerian dailies, weeklies and magazines. I was the senior editor of Tassili. I am member of the International Press Institute since 1997.
My publications: Bettina, a book about the art of Bettina Heinen-Ayech, written with Hans Karl Pesch, Germany, 1983; Poemes bleus, a poetry book, edited in Algiers, 1984.
Hachemi Ameur, a book about the work of the Algerian miniaturist, Hachemi Ameur, edited in France, 2001.
