| Firstly, I realised that without mastering the craft of leather I would not be able to express any of my artistic ideas. I have tried using many kinds of leather, colours, chemicals and technological procedures. I also did not have the appropriate tools so I had to make them myself. For a long time the final result was far from my artistic ideas. It took years for me to master the craft. To work out how to form the leather to the right shade and colour and also how to bring reality closer to my feeling. |

Biography:
| I have been working with leather for 30 years. I began with small, simple pieces of jewellery for my wife and family and have since built up into larger more intricate pieces, such as pictures, scupltures, mirrors, bookcovers and cases. This progression happened while spending a lot of time with (the artist) Jan Brabenec in his studio in Vienna during the 1980's. |
