I paint what I believe in my heart whether popular or not. We must be true to ourselves.
Biography: I was born in a blizzard February 1947 and raised in a suburb of London, England. My late husband and I immigrated to Arizona in June, 1996, just one year after an amazing six months backpacking adventure across the United States. We had a dream; to live and work in the United States. Following a series of catastrophic events culminating in January, 1998, when my husband passed away after 30 years of marriage. Soon after his death I moved down here to McGuireville, onto the property we bought together. For a prolonged period of time in which I felt lost; I spent most of my time in reflection seeking Spiritual guidance. I taught myself to make beaded jewelry; to begin with I had no idea in which direction I was going, but eventually, with the help of a good friend I began to exhibit and sell my jewelry at art shows around Arizona for a couple of years. I had dabbled at painting for a short period of time back in England and I decided to go back to it after a fifteen year break; life does seem to get in the way sometimes!! Eventually I made a decision to study as much as I could from other artist friends and joined an art club. It was laughingly said to me a few times, if Mother Moses could do it, so could I!! My medium is acrylics although I am moving into combining painting with other mediums. I enjoy experimenting with ideas. My life and my artistic subjects are heavily influenced by my spiritual connection to the Native American belief system, Native peoples of the world and the Earth. I fell in love with the desert at first sight which is why I live in the high desert, and that I can look out of any window of my home and just gaze at beauty. That is a huge inspiration for me. My Mission is to continue to grow, spiritually and artistically.
