The inspiration for my designs comes from the small details around us such as architectural and sculptural sections as well as macro and microscopic photographs. I find that images such as these show small sculptures that can be found in nature. These illustrate unique insights into the complexity of our environment. I try to capture gemstones in my work but to do to so in interesting ways that draws the attention of the viewer and entice them to look more closely. My interest lies in the design of jewellery, and while for university I have created the pieces myself I feel that the creativity in design is often restricted through the limits of my practical skills. In the future I want to be able to create designs to the highest possible standards that are then transformed into brilliant piece by someone that can do them justice.
