Deep down, we're all suckers for banality. I don't want to hope that years from now, after I'm long gone, people look at my art (if at all) and say, "She really pushed the envelope". I'd rather they say, "She brought beauty."
Biography: Maria J. William is 33 and lives in New York City with her husband of thirteen years and their two young children. She has been working as a freelance artist since 1995. Technically, Maria's artwork is fantasy portraiture; it hovers somewhere on the brink between realism, surrealism and eroticism, with heavy influences from Asian cultures, a number of modern fantasy artists, mythology, Art Nouveau and Pre-Raphaelites. She mostly works in pencils and oils. She likes to spend her free time (when she can get any) reading, writing, playing way too many computer games and exploring the world around her.
