I believe that artists see things in unordinary ways. As artists, it is our responsibility to help the viewer see those things that are not obvious to most people. A portrait artist's responsibility is to find and depict a suggestion of who the subject really is inside. Sometimes, an artist can go beyond and can paint something in a way that transends the viewer and makes them not only see but to FEEL what the artist does.
Biography: I received a degree in fine arts in 1980. Afterwards, in order to support the family, I went back to school and got a Masters Degree in Education. I spent the 15 years following that teaching 3rd grade. Eight years ago I was offered a position as an art teacher. Teaching art revived my passion for art. I have been actively persuing my art career since April 2006. I love doing commissioned work but my real dream is to have the time to draw and paint what I feel and see in others without the restraints of commissioned work.
