I am always hungry for a variety of the media to execute my art. Being the shaping artist, I am in need of 3-D effect to get the all feel of the work. In need of physical touch, seeing an unexpected and exciting shadows play on the surface. I admire to see layers at the work – like something is going from inside – from the core – and give a millions of verities under different angles.
Biography: When I was a little, I was trying to do all kinds of artistic activities, which were affordable for the military child – my father was an army officer and we were traveling as gypsies around the world. By that time I couldn’t realize how lucky I was to be on the move every six month, I was very upset and angry to leave the new friends, places I have started to like and the new sorts of interest, what ever it was – dances or vocal. I was always feeling that I miss and lose a lot from my life. I had a feeling that those lucky people, who were living at the same place for all their life, built the life fundament and me – I was like a leaf on the wind. Being a girl, I couldn’t know that I had a great gift – to see the world, with all of its amazing places and people and only later I have started appreciating my life’s choice for me to be outside and get inspired by everything I saw. When I reached 16, there was the time to make a life decision – which direction do I go. By that time, I was seriously in love with dance, poetry and drawing. Since my mom was in the fashion industry, I admired sawing from my early age. I was teaching the sawing & garment construction courses from the age of 16 but never was thinking of it as of my future career. When I finished the school, it takes me around couple of months to choose were do I go. The choice was made on the Republican Academy of Art (Benkov Academy), in Uzbekistan. I was enjoying my very best time for as long as seven years and graduated as the Bachelor of the Shaping Design & Fine Art. After graduation I suddenly got a strong feeling to work for a theatre and spent a year as the Puppet Theatre artist. The Puppet Theatre has a very strong cultural impact in Russia, where I am from, this is the first very important cultural place for the kids and usually parents take there children for the puppet’s performance at least once in a month. I loved Puppets from my very early age and I was twice luckier to see the European shows during our living in Europe. I love the Theatre but Puppets will be always very special for me, something very dramatically magical. I was working for the Theater for four years as the chief artist & performance producer in Volgograd, historically well known Russian city along with performing as a puppeteer. In the year of 2001 I have moved to Canada. I graduated from the International Academy of Design & Technology, Toronto, in Fashion Design program and working in the Fashion Industry as the Fashion Designer. This was very important step for me as for the artist. I was going gradually, accomplishing my artistic skills to become the fashion artist. Fashion for me – is the form of art, which not only has to be beautiful but also practical and comfortable. The artist needs more then a sense of color or shape in here, but very strong engineering knowledge. The same time I never stop working on my other art projects as the painting, sculpturing and mask-making. Artist needs to express himself – by other mean – share the world with others.
