Biography: Karina qualified with an Arts Degree from Nottingham University and spent the last few years living and painting in Switzerland and Germany. She had her first sell-out solo show at the M?nchener Volkshochschule in 2000. Recently returned home, her distinctive works have been warmly received at shows in Cork and Dublin (Ireland). She works in several styles, mainly figurative using acrylics on canvas and mixed media. Influenced by a wide range of artists, including Mark Rothko, Edward Hopper, Jack Vettriano and John Lavery she has been working on developing her own unique style. She is particularly interested in portraying the depths of human passion and emotion - jealousy, hate, love, fear and protection are common themes running throughout her work. Commissions accepted. Karina is actively involved in the art community and is President of the Maclise Art Society, one of the longest established societies in Cork.
