Biography: I was born and lived in Derbyshire all my life, surrounded by animals on my parents farm in the beautiful Lathkill Dale. I now live in South Wingfield in Derbyshire where I enjoy the huge amount of wildlife around me. I studied Art at Chesterfield Collage of Art and after marrying and bringing up a family my children bought me a box of pastels and persuaded me to start drawing again. I feel that pastels are the perfect medium to depict the soft fur of animals. I enjoy working in pastel, pencil and charcoal, my subjects include anything from pets to African wildlife. Recently a piece of my work was selected for the Leisure Painter competition at Patchings Art and Craft Centre, near Nottingham, which was displayed throughout the festival. My work has also been displayed at a local library and in art galleries. I have completed many commissions for clients around the country. Although I do like to take my own photographs of the subjects I paint, good quality photos from clients have also proved very successful.
