My work is inspired by the natural world and the need to alter it to a surreal and modern state. Rather than recreate a redundant landscape on canvas, I prefer to distort the scene to display meaning and or political expression/beliefs while displaying the true essence of the environment. This aids me in creating emotion and evoking thoughts within the viewer. Although I enjoy expressing myself in numerous methods such as painting, graphic art, and sketching-my favored method is to combine these mediums into a single piece of varied art by incorporating my sketches into graphic art pieces, my graphic art merged into a painting, etc. I have been influenced by artists such as H.R. Giger, Salvador Dali, Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. I hope to fulfill a life of creating art by always remaining knowledgeable in the field and continuing to grow as an artist.
